Our long journey to Turku, Finland

15th of April eruption of volcano in Iceland
18th of April departure of our flight CANCELLED
19th of April no flights allowed into the air
20th of April first test flights without passengers but still no flights allowed to take off
21st of April first commercial flights to pick up stranded people abroad, finally received new E-tickets for the 22nd but Helsinki airport was reclosed again uncertainty
22nd of April trip to Amsterdam airport without knowing if our flight would take off, 12:30 gate opened, 13:40 take off, 17:05 setting foot on Finnish ground FINALY IN HELSINKI.

After leaving the plane, and waiting for luggage we went to look for a bus to Turku. We asked for some direction, and we found out that we had to hurry because our bus was leaving in 10 minutes. While waiting in the rain for the bus we met a drunk grandpa, who was laughing constantly. The first bus was “free of charge”, at least that is what the bus driver told us, and while changing busses at Salo she said “Get in the bus. You will pay for sure, he will come”. After some while the money collector came. Trying to understand the bus driver made us even more uncertain where to step out, but when we saw the sign Turku 52 km we knew that it was still a long way to go. We were getting more and more bored in the bus when some of us recognized a picture from the internet – the river close to our hostel. We knew that we were close, but we stepped out one stop too late. We still did not have anything to eat so we went for some fast food. After eating we started searching for our hostel, which was located much further than we expected.

22:00 arrival in hostel, receiving the key, good impression about cleanness and service of the hostel and finally getting our well deserved rest.
